Commitment to nature in the cultivation of table grapes

RAIMSA Grapes is a company committed to sustainability and respect for the environment. Its work philosophy is guided by respect for the natural resources that sustain its farms, and make them productive and profitable. Raimsa conducts scientific research on its farms, analysing the landscape to determine whether the cultivation practices used are suitable or whether changes are necessary in order to improve the terrain, conserve its habitats and protect the fauna and flora of the area.

Value Chain

RAIMSA constantly strives to improve the quality of its products in order to satisfy its customers and end consumers. To this end, we carry out ongoing research into new varieties, always starting out from natural crosses and without using genetic engineering.

Our farming methods follow strict criteria of environmental sustainability and a rigorous respect for natural resources. New varieties undergo a long process of adaptation to the particular climatic conditions of the Valley of the Grapes and the characteristics of its soil, until arriving at a level of safety and quality that make them optimal for consumption.

Sustainability with an eye on 2030

RAIMSA knows and respects the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN in its 2030 Agenda, which include the implementation of policies governing the reasonable and efficient use of water, and optimisation of its use for irrigation.

We also carry out initiatives related to clean, affordable energy, including the implementation of renewable energy systems and monitoring to ensure responsible energy consumption.

Respect for the land is another of our objectives, involving ecological production methods that respect biodiversity and avoid the use of pesticides in the fight against pests, as well as employing reusable packaging materials.

Lastly, an important aspect of our mission and values is the creation of decent jobs, with the utmost respect for the rights and working conditions of workers.

Every drop of water is liquid gold

Water is a very scarce and valuable commodity, to the point that it is often quite rightly referred to as the “oil of the 21st century,” hardly surprising when you consider that since 2020 it has been quoted as a commodity in the futures market.

Indeed, constant population growth along with the high temperatures and long periods of drought associated with the climate crisis mean that many areas of our planet are suffering from water stress.

At RAIMSA we are aware that water is a precious resource and therefore we use the most modern irrigation techniques, with all our plots equipped with sophisticated drip irrigation systems.

Likewise, we carry out rigorous and constant checks of the quality and quantity of water that is allocated to each plot according to its characteristics, via daily attention to weather forecasts and the use of sensors to determine requirements.

We love the earth, we respect nature

Cultivating our table grape varieties in the Valley of Grapes, in the heart of the province of Alicante, is a privilege that we honour every day by implementing a working philosophy guided by respect for the natural resources that sustain our farms and make them productive and profitable.

Everything is done with the utmost respect for the environment: working and caring for the land, cultivating the fruits, pest control, the rationalisation of water consumption, the management of waste or the transport of goods, and the presentation of our products.

Raimsa has recently conducted a scientific study involving analysis of the soil of the farm and surrounding areas along with the elements that make up the landscape in order to determine whether the cultivation practices used are suitable or whether changes are necessary in order to improve the terrain, conserve its habitats and protect the fauna and flora of the area.

We are environmentalists because we our life’s work depends on it.
